Call Me Joan

What's in a name? "Joan" might be bland, it might be exciting - it all depends on the context. Read on for my own little unique take on the universe and watch me try to figure out what face I want to present to the world each day.

A Post for HV

HV said I could post about this stuff, so I'm going to. (Sorry HV for not getting around to it sooner! Maybe you'll wish you hadn't given me permission after this...?)

1. Congratulations on starting your own blog! When I get around to updating my own template, I will link to yours for all eternity. (You lucky dog, you.) I'd tell you all to go read it, but I don't know if HV's site can handle that much traffic yet.

2. Welcome to the world of online dating, my friend! I'm very proud of you. Thank you for telling me about it and making me feel like I'm a part of the process. I hope it works as well for you as it did (so far?) for me! One question though, what will happen to your Crush(es) of the Moment when you find Mr. Right?

Yes folks, HV has joined Blogger.com AND Match.com. Let the blogging and dating begin! And the blogging about dating! (How about the dating of bloggers too, if only just for symmetry?)

She's already put me to shame by getting herself a date lined up pretty much the first day her profile went live. (The guy has potential, too.) And you were worried, HV... Took me a good month to find someone I wanted to talk on the phone with, much less meet in person. If I hadn't already found ol' Kenyon, I'd be green with envy right now. (Just like that time when we were looking for post-college jobs during Senior year and you got an offer before I did, and I was pouting about it for a whole two weeks until I finally got an offer too... Not jealous, not jealous at all... ;)

I'm sure HV will blog all about the trials and tribulations of her newly reinvigorated dating life, so I probably won't say a whole lot on here about any episodes she cares to tell me about. (Besides, if I blog about them, she might stop giving me the inside scoop. Not that any of it's my business anyway, so I will keep my mouth shut unless HV explicitly gives me permission otherwise.)

In other news, I'm housing my god-kitties this weekend as Tallulah moves into a shiny new apartment. Wise decision on Tal's part to let the kitties roam elsewhere during the move, lest they end up packed in a box by accident. (Or, if they were my cats, they'd end up packed in boxes by choice. But they're weird. And one of them would sell his soul for a roll of tape to eat. Sigh.) But anyway, wish us all luck. It's going to be quite a unique experience all around, I think. Tal, and Tal's kitties, I just hope I don't let any of you down... I have no idea how my dudes will do with this setup, but I guess it will be a good experiment in the somewhat likely event that Kenyon and I move our (combined) 4 cats into the same house someday. A preview, if you will, of the hell that will be unleashed on that day... ;) (Just kidding Tal. Everybody will be just fine. But don't linger too long with the unpacking, okay?)

Time to go be Curve-y. Send happy thoughts to HV.

-J.
