If your friends jumped off a bridge...
Yes. Yes, I'd jump off the bridge too. Call a deep-seated need to conform. But if all my friends jumped off a bridge and told me how cool it was, I just might jump too. (At least if there were bungee cords involved and I didn't have to go first... Otherwise, screw that - y'all are on your own! :)
Welcome to my blog - Call Me Joan. No, that's not my real name, and yes, this is my latest attempt to be as cool as my friends, a few of whom have recently started their own blogs on here.
Why Joan? Why not? ;) Actually, it started when it was the only name my best friend's best guy friend could remember me by for a while. (Got all that? Don't worry, there's no quiz... yet.) And yes all you Buffy fans, it was the name she picked for herself in that infamous and classic amnesia episode, where she decided, "I think I look like a Joan." I don't know if I look like a Joan, but it beats most of the nicknames I grew up with. (Four brothers. All older. And all creative. To their credit, some of the nicknames were even cute. And some of them...weren't...)
Incidentally, my alternate-reality last name is "Rogers". That's the name we'd all use in my family when ordering takeout. (Oh those heady days before Caller ID and automated phone/address systems). And if you know my last name, you know why. It's just so much easier.
So, welcome. I don't know where this is headed, but to paraphrase a certain Ellen Degeneres bit, "let's find out together, shall we?"
