58 Down, 17 To Go
58 karate classes down, 17 to go til I reach that goal of 75 before the end of October. Yay me! I can do it! (Class was a lot of fun tonight and I'm feeling really positive. Yes, me, postive. Despite all the ranting I do on here, I'm every now and then I can be positively "peppy".) I really do have perma-bruise on my middle finger knuckles now though. (From all of the knuckle push-ups we do in class.) It's kind of fun and, I dunno, manly or something (look at Jet Li's hands sometime. That's me!! How cool is that?), but sometimes when I'm feeling especially feminine (yes, rare as it is, it does happen), I look down and sigh. No more hand modeling for me. Not that there was a whole lot of it before, but I do have sorta cute and tiny hands. And now they're cute and tiny hands with cute little round purple bruises at the base of each middle finger.
Since I've now mentioned three of my brothers in previous posts, I think it's about time I introduce the fourth (and last, but of course not least). He has a passion for volleyball that he shared with me when I was in high school, so in honor of that I shall call him Karch. Hi Karch! What are you up to, bro? Drop me an email, will ya?
I'm also re-thinking my nickname for yesterday's brother (I said I'd work on it), and I think I'm going to go with "Roy" for him. (Pronounced "Rrwhah".) As in Patrick Roy, the NHL's all-time winningest goalie. I'll have you know that I was there when my brother Roy (also a goalie, just not for the NHL) got his very first career shutout win. I got to keep the game puck. And I still have it. :) Roy was also the first person ever to take me to a major-league sporting event (I think, anyway) - the Buffalo Sabres playing somebody-or-other in Buffalo. I did cherish the experience, I'm just not very good with remembering certain kinds of details sometimes. Like who the opposing team was. But in my defense, it was more years ago now than I really want to admit. Oh hey Roy, and don't you still owe me a Red Sox game...?
(Incidentally, family members, if you don't like these I'm open to suggestions...) I think I will leave "Mom" and "Dad" just the way they are. :)
So now you've been introduced to the whole clan. There will be plenty more on them in the times to come, don't worry.
